About me

I'm Simon. My mission: build opportunities while smiling, for others and for myself. I mean the “while smiling” part: I want to be happy doing it.

It started with a school project. At 17 I met children who had to work instead of going to school. They were no less gifted than me, they just had fewer options. Potential is everywhere, opportunity is not. And then I meet people who have every opportunity and don't see it. I want to change both.

With Heistermann Solutions I build websites and web apps, it is my web studio. At Spreat I am responsible for everything that belongs to the product.

Dare Together is my brand for trips on which people work together and pull each other out of their comfort zone. Right now it is growing into a community again. Together you dare more than alone.

On the side I study Responsible Entrepreneurship at Tomorrow University, fully remote. Still, I learn the most where it gets uncomfortable. I would rather say yes once too often than once too rarely. If you are planning something I can help with, write to me. The address is right at the top.

My command centre

A dashboard on top of my notes: calendar with time blocks, tasks from every area and my briefings in one place. Some of my AI agents already work in there.

Weather AppLive

Side project: a weather app with rain radar, in React and TypeScript

My own weather app: rain radar, pollen, air quality and a tip on what to wear today. In German and English. The weather data comes from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), the map from OpenStreetMap, the radar from RainViewer.

El Pollo LocoLive

Fun project: a jump and run in plain JavaScript, no framework

Pepe collects coins and Tabasco bottles and ends up facing a bad-tempered hen. Every character, every jump and every collision is written by hand, object-oriented and without a framework. The game runs as a desktop app too.

Tic Tac ToeLive

Fun project: tic tac toe, by hand in JavaScript

Circle against cross, with animated marks, a winning line, sounds and a small scoreboard. One of my first projects, no framework at all. A little dusty, but fine for the lab.
